Meet The Chef

Hanna Jo Clemens

Hanna started her culinary career working for the Charcoal Group in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Shortly after graduation, Hanna agreed to take up a position in Killarney at the Sportsman’s Inn where she worked for four seasons. Hanna was then recruited to the Killarney Mountain Lodge where she was quickly promoted to Sous Chef during her first season in 2016. Hanna continued as Sous Chef as well as managing the baking and pastry department for four seasons.

Chef Hanna started her culinary career in high school while conducting a Youth Apprenticeship Program at Conestoga College. It was that program which led to a passion in baking and pastry. She continued her education at George Brown College in baking and pastry, graduating in 2012.

Before settling in Killarney, Hanna spent many off-seasons gaining other work experience mainly in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Working for Sabletine (a French bakery) and The Culinary Studio (a recreational cooking school). In the winter of 2015, Hanna decided to go out to British Columbia to work for Canadian Mountain Holiday for a heli-skiing lodge. Said Hanna: “This is where I gained a lot of knowledge in other areas of hospitality as well as the culinary side, all while getting to live in the mountains.”

Hanna’s creativity in preparing some of the finest culinary delights ever tasted, her attention to detail, her work ethic, and her infectious positive personality all led to her becoming Head Chef of The Canada House in 2021. Everyone loves Chef Hanna!
